If you already have GTR 2 and Race '07, there won't be much to compel to you pick up GTR Evolution. If you have neither of those, though, GTR Evolution is a must-have for anyone that has a yearning to race.
Race 07 was just a season update for Race, and GTR Evolution continues to same direction. It adds the game some cars and legendary Nordscleife track, but basicly that's all. Everything is quite nice but nothing rises above the minimum level of hardcore racing simulators. Graphics engine looks like 5 years old. Production cars, that should shine brightly, look like plastic cars with plastic shine. In race cars that effect didn't bother, but with production cars graphics engine show its lack of ability to draw realistic lighting effects. Race 07 with GTR Evolution is very good game, but nothing else. Hopefully Simbin starts to do something completely different after these season updates, which have been continuing for too long now. And I hope I don't ever have to copy my review from one year old game anymore. [Sept 2008]

I've tried them all and GTR Evo sounds the best and performs like a sim should. I like the graphics in the new F1 2010 but it still feels like an arcade to me. I like GTRE so much that I put two Radeon 5870's in crossfire to get the graphics and game play at full tilt. IMHO there's nothing that compares to this game to date!

the game is cool, but not everyone likes it because it's a simulator. the best aspect of the game is the noise of the engines at high rpm the sound is phenomenal

RACE 07 fans that are craving the ultimate challenge should purchase Evolution if for no other reason then to experience the famous "green hell" of Nrburgring.

GTR Evolution feels like the most complete but also last installment in the series. The next one will probably be more like a revolution than an evolution. And with for good reason. Evolution is starting to look a little outdated. Just don't let this stop you from buying this game. GTR Evolution offers you an all-in-one package of cars and tracks in a racer that's almost as good as the real thing.
The reason this game and its predecessors perch atop their genre is they make every sweet passing move, crisply negotiated corner and shaved second feel like a podium finish.
As usual from SimBin – GTR Evo is stunning driving experience. Owners of Race 07 should think twice before buying this game – many parts were “recycled” from the previous game. [Oct 2008]
The GTs are king of dull here compared to GTR². But it's still enjoyable thanks to the nurburgring circuit.
Started to make Simbin appear to think of their its loyal customer as cash cows... Making this addon a full priced game at first. Hopefully they now solved this by giving everything as possible addon for RACE07.
Top notch in league racing.

Excellente IA, bruits de moteur corrects (mais parfois médiocres). Les graphismes sont d'un autre âge aujourd'hui mais étaient déjà dépassés à l'époque (en plus d'exiger une grosse config !). La conduite propose parfois des réactions étranges pour ne pas dire discutables (tête-à-queue aléatoires). Les bons points restent le réglage indépendant de la difficulté des opposants et des aides ainsi que les ralentis (impeccables).
Si le multi fonctionne très bien, il est bourré de kikoos. Toujours est-il que l'ensemble reste rigide et manque de pèche et de cohérence dans le comportement routier. A noter que le jeu est loin d'être exceptionnel au volant, la faute à un feedback réduit au minimum syndical.
